The size and distribution of additional holes in the front plate and pole are optimized to produce a “balanced” airflow through the loudspeaker’s motor system. The suspension pumps air through the vents as the cone moves, ensuring the entire magnet assembly and voice coil are more effectively cooled without causing unwanted air noise.
This makes significant gains in power handling achievable and helps considerably reduce the incidence of thermal compression, to maintain output SPL at very high input levels.
This is featured in products such as theĀ CF1840JD.
