Low frequency driver, in particular the flagship CF Series, surrounds and suspensions have been FEA optimised to minimise non-linearities and to maximise signal integrity. The multi-roll surround and suspension ring work together to achieve the greatest possible linear range, while progressively applying restoring forces at extremes of movement to limit any over-excursion. This provides maximum symmetrical cone movement and significantly reduces distortion.
Where double suspension rings are used, they are mounted in anti-phase to minimise distortion due to phase cancellation.
Additionally the surround is made as narrow as is practical to obtain the largest possible cone piston diameter, thereby maximising output.
