G12H-75 Creamback

Back in the late 60s the G12H was created by fixing an ‘H’ type (heavy) magnet to the body of a G12M guitar speaker. Result: a speaker with more power and a different tonal balance: firmer bass and a more pronounced top end. So we added an ‘H’ magnet to the G12M-65 Creamback to create a guitar speaker that delivers the sonic signature of a G12H combined with Creamback levels of power handling. The result is the G12H-75 Creamback. It delivers 75-watts of power handling with ease and has unmistakeable G12H tone with a tighter low end than the G12M-65 Creamback and a punchier more dynamic high end. The H magnet brings additional focus body and girth to the Creamback tone. It thickens single notes resulting in a highly articulate vocal character. These additional characteristics mean that the G12H-75 Creamback offers exceptional performance when used for lead guitar and sounds massive loaded into a 4×12 cab!

Heritage Series G12H(75)

It’s hard to escape the sound of the G12H; just listen to any Hendrix recording and chances are you’ll be hearing a whole raft of them powering the guitar out of the mix. These faithful re-creations capture the unmistakeable mojo of late 60s rock guitar tones. The Heritage Series G12H (75) features a 75 c/s ‘lead’ cone for an alternative tonal balance that places a little less emphasis on bass frequencies. Choose this version if you prefer a tighter bottom end with a punchy upper mid-range and sparkling highs.

Originally re-released to celebrate our 70th Anniversary, the G12H guitar speaker remains hugely popular with players looking to recreate the classic sounds of 60s and 70s rock.

The G12H (55) features a hefty 50oz ceramic magnet and a lower resonance 55Hz (aka 55 c/s) bass cone. This speaker was originally intended for use by bass guitarists, but was quickly adopted by lead players – most famously Jimi Hendrix – because of the warm ‘syrupy’ tones it delivered. In singles and pairs it delivers strong and warm lows – but it’s in a 4X12 configuration where it comes into its own, generating a great chugging ‘thump’ of the kind that that guitar heroes are made of.
