Celestion Debuts the Heritage G12M Impulse Responses

Ipswich, UK (November 7, 2018) — Celestion, the premier manufacturer of guitar and bass loudspeakers known for creating the world’s renowned classic guitar tones, is pleased to announce the introduction of their latest Impulse Response the Heritage G12M IR.

This is the second IR release from Celestion’s acclaimed Heritage Series of iconic guitar speaker products, following on from the release of the Heritage G12H(55). The Heritage Series was designed to exactly recreate the tone and the look of iconic guitar speakers originally available in the 1960s and 70s. Celestion’s entire line of IRs, the original digital representations of the company’s classic guitar speaker tones, are available for download and audition with the rest of the comprehensive collection of tones at CelestionPlus.

Just like the original 1960s G12M, the Heritage G12M speaker impulse response gives you silky smooth tone with sweet, organic overdrive. The IR, like the classic speaker that it is named for, is available in a digital format for download and use in a wide range of DAWs and amp  modellers.

The Heritage G12M speaker is a faithful recreation of the original ‘60s Celestion G12M, the first of the company’s iconic speakers to feature the distinctive green rear can, earning it the nickname ‘Greenback’. Beloved of many 1960s blues and rock guitarists, including the legendary Eric Clapton and Jimmy Page, the original Celestion G12M continued to inspire players into the ‘70s and beyond.

This modern day replica of an iconic speaker is built by hand using traditional construction methods and materials in order to recreate the seminal G12M tone as closely as possible. The result is a speaker that delivers a rich, vocal midrange, a well-articulated treble, and a warm, controlled low end, with plenty of crunch and compression when you “dig in”.

As with all Celestion IRs, five individual IR varieties of the new G12M are available for download, which correspond to each of 5 separate types of cabinet, including: 1×12 (open back), 1×12 (closed back), 2×12 (open back), 2×12 (closed back) and 4×12 (closed back.) These can be purchased either separately, or download the complete G12M IR collection for a substantial savings. Alternatively, add a cabinet to one of the company’s IR Pick & Mix options.

The new Heritage G12M  IR joins the comprehensive range of professionally captured Celestion Impulse Responses, which are available for purchase on Celestion Plus.  Other models include the A-TypeCelestion BlueCelestion Cream, Celestion Gold, Classic Lead 80, G12H 55Hz, G12K-100, G12-35XC ,  G12T-75,  G12-50GL Lynchback,   G12-H150 Redback,  G12M Greenback, G12M-65 Creamback, G12M-75 Creamback, G12H Anniversary, G12-65, Neo Creamback, V-Type, and  Vintage 30 models. About Celestion Impulse Responses

Celestion IRs, which capture the essential behavior of the cabinet in the specific space in which it was recorded, including the frequency and phase response of single drivers as well as the interaction of multiple speakers, offer the user significant benefits. In both recording and live production, Celestion IRs enable the desired tone to be precisely and consistently reproduced regardless of the music recording or live sound environment. And IR users can escape the limitations of a single mic and cabinet setup and explore a universe of possibilities to create the perfect tone. Once you find a tone that you love, it can be precisely recreated, in the studio or on the road, time after time. And the IRs allow Celestion customers to audition specific models before purchasing one or more physical speakers.

Celestion IR digital downloads are available in uncompressed, industry standard .WAV format at 44.1 kHz, 48 kHz, 88.2 kHz and 96 kHz sample rates at 24 bit depth, in lengths of 200 and 500 milliseconds Once the files are downloaded and unzipped, users simply load the IRs into a convolution plug-in in their DAW or into other processing hardware. These formats will work in all known hardware capable of loading IRs, and for the most popular hardware Celestion have already grouped together the correct formats. Guitar processor manufacturers supported include Atomic Amps, Fractal Audio Systems, Kemper, Line 6, Logidy, Positive Grid, Two Notes, Headrush and Yamaha. The Celestion IR files may be downloaded in the sample rate and length appropriate for the hardware being used or as a complete package of all rates and lengths. Celestion G12H 55Hz Speaker – 60s Rock Mojo in IR Form

The Heritage Series G12H (55) IR is a faithful tonal replica of the original Celestion G12H favoured by Jimi Hendrix in the 1960s.

Featuring a bass cone with a lower, 55Hz (55 c/s) resonance, its deeper low end, balanced midrange and clear, controlled highs were well suited to the more heavily overdriven rock tones emerging at the end of that decade.

It’s a distinctive rock tone that has inspired hard rock guitarists ever since, ranging from Tony Iommi of Black Sabbath, Joe Perry of Aerosmith and Ricky Medlocke of Blackfoot/Lynyrd Skynyrd.

And now, this classic speaker can be part of your tonal repertoire when you download the new Heritage G12H (55) impulse response. The Celestion G12H 55Hz speaker IR is available in 5 cabinet options – 1×12 open or closed, 2×12 open or closed, or 4×12 closed back – or buy all 5 together in a collection pack for a significant saving.

Celestion Debuts the Heritage G12H 55Hz Impulse Responses

Ipswich, UK (October 11, 2018) — Celestion, the premier manufacturer of guitar and bass loudspeakers with a celebrated history in creating the world’s renowned classic guitar tones, is pleased to introduce the new Heritage G12H 55Hz Impulse Response, in homage to late 60’s rock guitar tones, as the latest addition to their acclaimed line of IRs, the definitive digital representations of the company’s classic guitar speaker tones. The new G12H (55) IRs, as well as the rest of the comprehensive family of Celestion IRs, are available for audition and download at CelestionPlus.

The G12H (55) features a hefty 50oz ceramic magnet and a lower resonance 55Hz (aka 55 c/s) bass cone. This speaker was originally intended for use by bass guitarists, but was quickly adopted by lead players – most famously Jimi Hendrix – because of the warm ‘syrupy’ tones it delivered. In singles and pairs it delivers strong and warm lows – but it’s in a 4X12 configuration where it comes into its own, generating a great chugging ‘thump’ of the kind that that guitar heroes are made of. With a densely complex mid-range and a fine-grained treble, the G12H (55) is excellent for cranking out brooding power chords, complemented by smooth and rich bridge pickup tones and flute-like neck pickup tones.

Countless guitarists have sought to reproduce the distinctive Jimi Hendrix sound over the years, and now their quest just got a whole lot easier, with the Celestion Heritage G12H (55) impulse responses, representing an authentic digital version of this classic speaker.

As with all Celestion IRs, five individual IR varieties of the new G12H (55) are available for download, which correspond to each of 5 separate types of cabinet, including: 1×12 (open back), 1×12 (closed back), 2×12 (open back), 2×12 (closed back) and 4×12 (closed back.) These can be purchased either separately, or download the complete G12H (55) IR collection for a 40% saving. Alternatively, add a G12H (55) cabinet to one of our IR Pick & Mix options.

The new Heritage G12H 55Hz IR joins the comprehensive range of professionally captured Celestion Impulse Responses, which are available for purchase on Celestion Plus.  Other models include the A-TypeCelestion BlueCelestion Cream, Celestion Gold, Classic Lead 80, G12K-100, G12-35XC ,  G12T-75,  G12-50GL Lynchback,   G12-H150 Redback,  G12M Greenback, G12M-65 Creamback, G12M-75 Creamback, G12H Anniversary, G12-65, Neo Creamback, V-Type, and  Vintage 30 models. Celestion G12T-75 Impulse Response – Available Now

Beloved of many iconic metal guitarists for more than 30 years, the Celestion G12T-75 has now been captured in digital form and is available to download now. The T75 was created in the 80’s as a more powerful version of the G12M Greenback and  immediately became a stalwart of the metal scene for more than 3 decades, delivering punchy lows, aggressive mids and balanced highs – a perfect mix for heavy rock lead guitars.

It’s been used on its own by legends such as Yngwie Malmsteen – but mixing it in a 4×12 with, perhaps, some Vintage 30’s, has also proved to be a popular combo. You can now experience these tones for yourself – on their own or mixed with one of our other IRs.

While it’s far lighter than the classic Creamback G12M-65 and G12H-75, it’s no lightweight when it comes to emulating that authentic Creamback tone. The overall result is instantly familiar, with the same vintage feel as a Creamback, but with a few of its own unique touches. Expect a punchy low end, warm mids, some crunch in the upper mids and highs that are sweet and refined, like we blended the Creamback M and H together in a super-light package. .
