Celestion G12H 55Hz Speaker – 60s Rock Mojo in IR Form

The Heritage Series G12H (55) IR is a faithful tonal replica of the original Celestion G12H favoured by Jimi Hendrix in the 1960s.

Featuring a bass cone with a lower, 55Hz (55 c/s) resonance, its deeper low end, balanced midrange and clear, controlled highs were well suited to the more heavily overdriven rock tones emerging at the end of that decade.

It’s a distinctive rock tone that has inspired hard rock guitarists ever since, ranging from Tony Iommi of Black Sabbath, Joe Perry of Aerosmith and Ricky Medlocke of Blackfoot/Lynyrd Skynyrd.

And now, this classic speaker can be part of your tonal repertoire when you download the new Heritage G12H (55) impulse response. The Celestion G12H 55Hz speaker IR is available in 5 cabinet options – 1×12 open or closed, 2×12 open or closed, or 4×12 closed back – or buy all 5 together in a collection pack for a significant saving.

The Celestion V-Type speaker, launched in the summer of 2013, was designed to deliver vintage Celestion tone (The V stands for Vintage) but using modern construction techniques and materials.

Its tone was designed around elements of the G12M Greenback and G12H Creamback, but with a beefy 70W of power handling to cater for the contemporary guitarist.

With huge versatility across the frequency range, V-Type tone is now available as an IR, in a range of cabinet options. Find out more about the V-Type IR at this blog.

Celestion G12T-75 Impulse Response – Available Now

Beloved of many iconic metal guitarists for more than 30 years, the Celestion G12T-75 has now been captured in digital form and is available to download now. The T75 was created in the 80’s as a more powerful version of the G12M Greenback and  immediately became a stalwart of the metal scene for more than 3 decades, delivering punchy lows, aggressive mids and balanced highs – a perfect mix for heavy rock lead guitars.

It’s been used on its own by legends such as Yngwie Malmsteen – but mixing it in a 4×12 with, perhaps, some Vintage 30’s, has also proved to be a popular combo. You can now experience these tones for yourself – on their own or mixed with one of our other IRs.

Impulse Response Library – Sound Like Your Guitar Hero

Sounding Like Your Guitar Hero Has Never Been Easier with an Impulse Response Library

If you bought your current Celestion speaker in order to help you sound more like your favourite guitar player, you’re not alone. Maybe you got a Vintage 30 to give you a Slash sound, or perhaps you fell for the G12M Greenback for that Angus Young tone.
Of course, most of us have several guitar heroes – but buying multiple classic speakers to represent them all just isn’t realistic. However, with a selection of IRs from the CelestionPlus impulse response library, you can experience the tones of many more guitar legends without breaking the bank. With IRs you
don’t just get to choose the speaker type, you can choose your cabinet type too (1×12, 2×12 or 4×12) – and even your mic and its position – to get as close as possible to the sound you want.

Celestion Announces New “Pick & Mix” Option for their Acclaimed IR Library

Ipswich, UK (March 13,  2018) —   Celestion is very pleased to announce a new way for customers to acquire and build upon their library of Impulse Responses, the company’s authentic digitally downloadable speaker tones,  The Pick & Mix option, which is available in combinations of either 3 or 5 cabinets from the company’s full range of IRs, gives customers complete flexibility in the way they choose to build their personal IR library at a significant savings compared to purchasing individual IRs.  The entire family of Celestion Impulse Responses, which currently includes 15 sets of classic Celestion loudspeaker IRs introduced during the past year, are available for audition and download at newly redesigned Celestion Plus.

With the Pick & Mix offering, customers can choose to include IRs from the same speaker or different speakers, and in any combination of cabinet types (1×12, 2×12, 4×12, closed or open back.)  This option makes it simple to build a Celestion Impulse Response collection that includes only the speakers and cabinet types that match particular interests and style of playing. For example, heavy metal players might favor a 4 x 12 cabinet, the choice could be 4 x 12 closed back cabinets for the Vintage 30, G12M Greenback, G12-65, G12H-150 Redback or the G12-50GL Lynchback. And for “purer” speaker tones, perhaps more appropriate for melodic lead guitar, a player might want to focus on 1×12 or 2×12 cabinets, together with speakers that have been tried and tested on countless solos throughout the years, such as the Classic Lead 80 1×12, , Neo Creamback 1×12, G12H Anniversary 1×12 and 2×12.

The Pick & Mix collection options of 5 or 3 cabinets offer significant savings over the cost of buying cabinets alone. The 5 Cab Custom Collection allows customers to pick any combinations of five cabinets for almost 50% off the price of buying the cabinets separately. And with the 3 Cab Custom Collection, customers can pick any three cabinets for more than 40% off the price of buying 3 cabinets separately. So it’s never been more affordable to quickly build an entire IR library of favourite Celestion speakers.

“The Celestion collection of Impulse Responses have received overwhelmingly positive acclaim from customers around the world,” says Nigel Wood, Celestion CEO. “We want to be able to offer our customers more creative flexibility and value when purchasing our IRs, and so we’re delighted to introduce the Pick &Mix options.”

The Pick & Mix option is also a valuable audition tool for customers planning to buy physical Celestion speakers.  As choosing from the company’s extensive range can be challenging, as there’s no easy way to get a true like-for-like comparison between several speakers at the same time, the Pick & Mix option allows customers to create a shortlist of their 3 or 5 speakers and try them all with their own guitars and amps before they buy.

The ever-growing family of authentic Celestion Impulse Responses which are available for purchase on Celestion Plus. include the G12-50GL Lynchback, Classic Lead 80, Classic Gold, A-Type , Neo Creamback,  G12-H150 Redback,  G12M Greenback, G12M-65 Creamback, G12M-75 Creamback, G12H Anniversary, G12-65,  Cream, G12-35XC, Celestion Blue and Vintage 30 models mounted in 1×12 and 2×12 open and closed back and 4×12 cabinets.

Celestion Speaker IRs – A Cure for Speaker Envy?

Celestion Speaker IRs – A Cure for Speaker Envy?

There’s only thing better than owning a classic Celestion guitar speaker – and that’s owning all of them!

But who, realistically, can afford to buy every model of Celestion speaker and try them out? Especially if you use a 2×12 or 4×14 cabinet. In practice, most players will only change speaker type when their current speaker needs replacing.

Even if you’re absolutely loyal to, say, your Vintage 30, your G12-65 or your Alnico Blue, and would never dream of abandoning it for another model, it’s hard not to be tempted to try out some of the other classic Celestion tones if you get the chance.

With Celestion IRs, this idea has become very realistic, and affordable too, enabling you to explore a wide (and ever increasing) range of classic Celestion speakers in digital form, without breaking the bank. You need never suffer from speaker envy again.

G12M-65 Creamback Speaker and IR Go Head to Head

When we captured the impulse response of the Creamback G12M-65 speaker as part of our new speaker IR range, we knew it sounded authentic. But when we compared the physical speaker and IR graphically the match was so close to perfect even we were impressed!Which makes the IR a great way to “test drive” the Creamback G12M before you buy the real thing.

Drivers: 2 x NTR21-5010JD
Max continuous SPL (predicted, single box): 138dB 1-watt/1m (-6dB at 45Hz,)
