Business Development Executive

We are seeking a Business Development Executive in the USA to join our team.

The roles involves managing our existing customer base comprising of retail, wholesale and distribution mainly within the music instrument and Pro Audio sectors, as well as sourcing new customers and opportunities to grow the Celestion product portfolio across the USA and Canada.

This position will be home-office based, reporting to the VP of Business Development in the USA and will require at least 30% of the time travelling, including occasional international travel. The successful candidate will become part of a dynamic global sales and marketing team, with offices based in UK, China and USA.

Responsibilities include:

  • Account management of existing customer base comprising of retail, wholesale and distribution mainly within the music instrument and Pro Audio sectors.
  • Source new customers and new opportunities to grow the existing Celestion product portfolio across the USA and Canada.
  • Work in conjunction with our UK based marketing team to increase brand awareness and improve communication with consumers, trade and existing partnerships.
  • Liaise with our UK based sales admin team to ensure speedy and efficient processing of sales orders, deliveries, payments and other customer service requirements.
  • Represent the company at relevant trade shows and events as required.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record in sales and marketing as a strategic thinking executive capable of managing many aspects of a growing business.

Product Manager

Occupying a Marketing role that bridges the Engineering and Sales departments, Celestion is looking for an experienced Product Manager.

The role involves the successful interpretation of market requirements and the ability to turn them into actual products. This begins with the initiation of new product development  by identifying potential opportunities: conducting market research; generating product requirements; determining specifications and pricing; setting production timetables and managing new product ideas from concept through into production.

Following product completion, the role requires the presentation of the product as a saleable package including market analysis; development of unique features and benefits; launch and production timing; suggested pricing and intended applications.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Determining customers’ needs by carrying out market research.
  • Recommending future product and product lines, appraising new product ideas and/or supporting material changes.
  • Assessing the marketplace by comparing Celestion’s product range to that of our competitors.
  • Evaluating market intelligence by calling on customers with field salespeople.
  • Providing information for management by providing reports and analyses on product performance  features; answering questions and requests.
  • Bringing new products to market by analysing proposed product requirements; preparing specification and costing information; establishing time schedules with engineering and overview monitoring/project managing into production.
  • Preparing and follow procedures to facilitate efficient, smooth and timely introduction of products and the generation of necessary supporting material.
  • Introducing and market new products by developing plans, providing input, written content and other material for use by marcom and sales functions.
  • Determining product pricing by utilising market research data; reviewing production and sales costs; anticipating volume.
  • Providing support to sales and marcom, presenting new products and technical information as required.
  • Maintaining professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.

Previous experience in a product management role is desirable and we would expect the successful candidate to have significant experience in the audio industry.

Loudspeaker Development Engineer

See your engineering designs come to life as new Celestion products!

We are seeking an experienced loudspeaker drive-unit engineer to be based at our modern design facility in Ipswich, UK.

The role involves the design of OEM drivers for the music industry and for sound-reinforcement applications. This important position will be responsible for all aspects of design, driver specification, documentation and project management through to production.

The role requires the successful candidate to develop new designs from initial concept into full production. You will have a degree in a relevant engineering or acoustics discipline and an understanding of loudspeakers. Previous experience of using finite element analysis and measurement systems such as Klippel would also be an advantage.

As well as these skills you will be a team player able to work with a minimum of supervision and meet demanding deadlines in a busy department. Good communication and IT skills are essential as is the confidence to steer projects to a conclusion. The successful candidate will be joining a friendly team within a fast-paced and exciting working environment.

Production Operative

Due to new product lines coming on board, we are currently seeking full-time Production Operative / Assemblers to carry out various tasks in our busy UK factory based in Great Blakenham, near Ipswich, Suffolk.

Our products are made by hand, so the ideal candidate will be dexterous, with some mechanical aptitude and excellent communication skills. Candidates will also need high levels of concentration and a strong eye for detail. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating production line equipment and hand-finishing products.

Duties would include:

  • Working as part of a production line team producing Celestion’s world class products
  • Assembling raw materials by hand or using production machinery
  • Use of small hand tools and soldering skills

Experience required:

  • Proven experience of working on a production line involving hand assembly of products
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Lifting and manual handling
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines
