The G12M-50 Hempback is the first ever hemp cone guitar speaker built by Celestion. It features a cone specifically chosen for its tonal character combined with a medium-weight (35oz) ceramic magnet, Well defined and powerful the speaker delivers a thump in the low end, a finely balanced midrange (with just a little Celestion crunch thrown in) and smooth, singing highs. It all adds up to a speaker that’s perfect for deploying with brighter sounding amps, where a more laid- back feel is required. The G12 EVH was created for, and bears the initials of, one of the most influential rock guitarists of the last forty years – Eddie Van Halen. Eddie Van Halen has been an avid user of Celestion Greenbacks from the outset of his career. So, when it came time to select speakers for his 5150-III signature 4×12, Van Halen chose the 20-watt Heritage Series G12M as the most faithful and familiar reproduction of his Greenback tone. This is the second IR release from Celestion’s acclaimed Heritage Series of iconic guitar speaker products, following on from the release of the Heritage G12H(55). The Heritage Series was designed to exactly recreate the tone and the look of iconic guitar speakers originally available in the 1960s and 70s. The Heritage G12M speaker is a faithful recreation of the original ‘60s Celestion G12M, the first of the company’s iconic speakers to feature the distinctive green rear can, earning it the nickname ‘Greenback’. The G12H (55) features a hefty 50oz ceramic magnet and a lower resonance 55Hz (aka 55 c/s) bass cone. This speaker was originally intended for use by bass guitarists, but was quickly adopted by lead players – most famously Jimi Hendrix – because of the warm ‘syrupy’ tones it delivered.
